![]() ![]() It's unclear if the sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home will be part of Phase 5 or 6, but fans certainly have a lot of questions about the upcoming movie. It already had enough going for it without needing to toy with the hopes and expectations of Spider-Man and Venom fans. The most recent update to the MCU's fourth Spider-Man film comes as a surprise to many fans, as the movie wasn't part of the projects that Marvel Studios presented at D23 last year. A longer Venom appearance certainly would have helped, but even after news got around that the Tom Hardy No Way Home appearance is only brief, the movie continued to sell tickets. Spider-Man: No Way Home smashed a lot of MCU box office records, and it wasn't because Venom was in it. It felt like a marketing ploy for a movie that really didn't need one. Marvel, Sony, and Disney are no doubt aware of this, which made the stark difference between the story hinted at in the Venom 2 post-credits scene and the No Way Home cameo all the more aggravating for some. It felt as though Venom's presence in the film was only meant to serve a specific purpose, which further cheapens the antihero's appearance. The Tom Hardy No Way Home post-credits cameo left a lot of viewers who were hoping to see Venom interact with Tom Holland's Spider-Man disappointed.
